Terms and conditions 

 

FEES POLICY

Students are invoiced for one week before term commences. 

Payments can be paid in full or paid monthly. If a student leaves and has only settled one month’s fee, the rest of the term fees must be settled. All fees are non-refundable and discounts or refunds will not be given for classes missed by the pupil, unless explicitly arranged with the Principal. 

 Students are welcome to attend make up classes where possible. 

All fees must be paid by the beginning of term. Any late payments will incur a surcharge of 10 euro (per instalment) if unpaid after 14 days.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

If a parent wishes to withdraw a student from the school, 4 weeks notice in writing to the principal, must be given before the end of term otherwise 4 weeks fees will be charged. 

 

CLASSES

On the occasion that class is cancelled by the teacher due to illness or injury, the school will reschedule the class where possible. If it is not possible to reschedule a class, for which the fees have already been paid, the school will deduct the cost of the class/classes from the following terms fees. 

The school will not be held responsible for cancellations for reasons beyond the schools control (e.g. adverse weather) However the class will be rescheduled if and where possible.

 

All parents/legal guardians are please asked not to enter the studio during class.

If someone other than a known parent/legal guardian is collecting the student the school must be informed prior to the class.

UNIFORM

All students must wear the uniform outlined by the school for every examinations. These uniforms can be bought from several local dance shops. Students are however, permitted to wear a leotard of their style, colour and choice during class together with pink or flesh coloured tights and shoes for ballet and a coloured leotard and skirt for Spanish Dance. Hair must be worn in a bun for both ballet and Spanish classes. 

For health and safety reasons all jewellery (other than small studs) should be removed before class. 

Only water is permitted to bring into class. 

 

PHYSICAL CORRECTIONS

In order to assist in a students learning the teacher may physically help the student by using touch. This method will always be performed in a professional and careful manner and students’ or parents permission will be sort.

HEALTH / MEDICAL INFORMATION

Our registration forms will ask you if you would like us to be made aware of any medical conditions / health concerns or learning difficulties that may affect you or your child's learning or ability to perform in class.

Injuries that occur and are not communicated to us on our registration form form should be made clear to the teacher, prior to or at the start of any class. 

 

OBSERVATION

At the end of the first and third Term parents will be invited to watch their children during class. 

 

PHOTOGRAPHY

The school may wish to take photographs or videos of students for marketing and advertisement for the School of Dance including use on: website, social media and flyers. Consent will be recorded on registration forms. 

 

Filming and photography is permitted during Parents’ viewing with the consent of all other parents. The teacher will ask permission at the start of each class.

 

DATA PROTECTION

Parents/Guardians must provide up to date information in order to keep our records in compliance with GDPR regulations.

Invoices, receipts and other materials regarding your child's enrolment will be provided via email correspondence 

All data and personal information held by Deborah McNamara School of Dance will be stored securely and will not be used for purposes other than what is necessary to provide you with our services.

Data collected on registration/application forms on entry to the school is collected for the Deborah McNamara School, the ISTD and the Spanish Dance Society (UK) and is only shared with the Societies awarding bodies to gain the examination certificates; for student members to receive notifications from the school and Societies (UK) and for the school and Societies to maintain records of candidate number registration and for recording and monitoring all examination results. Personal data on medical and learning difficulty issues is only shared with faculty to attain the best outcome for the student and is stored in a safe environment. Any change of contact details or medical information should be sent in writing to the principal.

 

RESPONSIBILITY 

Dance is a physical activity and contains a certain amount of risk. Any student taking part in any classes or events, run by the Dance McNamara School of Dance do so at their own risk.

 

TIMETABLE

The timetable is subject to change at any time. Parents/Legal Guardians and students will be informed of any changes.
